Through the establishment of the Gender Desk, the BMF aims to address the fundamental "Missing Women" phenomena within Corporate South Africa's top structures.

The prototype of an executive is universally known and accepted to be male and white, thus the ultimate position of this tends to be a great abnormally. This accepted abnormally therefore perpetuates the stereotype and limits black African female executives' (in particular) access to opportunities and advancement.

The aim of the gender desk is to cultivate a gender equity culture for inclusive managerial leadership within BMF and Corporate South Africa.
